SFC were crowned League Champions on Friday evening, after securing a point against a well drilled Hotspurs team in a hotly contested 2-2 draw.
SFC were denied the title in 2019 due to the pandemic. When football restarted in Singapore, they were pipped at the post by the narrowest of margins on goal difference in 2023/24. This season was very different with the club losing just one game all season. On that occasion against a formidable FC Nippon team.
Powered by a formidable front four of Liam Shotton, Fazrul Nawaz, Joe Claridge and Ryosuke Ataku SFC’s 2023/24 goal threat overcame all obstacles and netted 71 goals. That same attack was aided by a midfield of Michel Campion, Tim Walter, Sam Gravatt and Hiroki Akiyama whilst at the back a variety of combinations involving Daniel Bennett, Roberto Bruce, Jack Cullinane, Akil Pompey, Adam Wise and Club Captain Jahan Rezai meant the team conceded just 19 goals throughout the season.
Congratulations to all involved both on and off the pitch, with special mentions to the managerial masterminds Matt Hulen and Adam Wise.
SFC will be looking to carry these strong performances in to the Cosmo Cup as they face a resurgent German All Stars on 20th April in the first round.
