Oxford City Football Club and Singapore Football Club announce international partnership

A new football partnership connecting England and Singapore through coaching, player pathways, education and international camps.

Oxford City Football Club and Singapore Football Club (SFC) are delighted to announce a new international partnership that will connect the two clubs across coaching, player development, education and international camps. The partnership brings together one of England’s most progressive community focused football clubs with proud heritage dating back to 1882, with one of Singapore’s fastest-growing and most ambitious football clubs.

At the heart of the partnership is a commitment to knowledge sharing and best practice between the two clubs’ coaching teams. Working together, Oxford City FC and Singapore FC will develop coaching and leadership camps in Oxford, education pathways anchored in the city’s world-renowned academic environment, and player pathways that give young Singapore-based players the opportunity to train, develop and be seen in England. The clubs will also run summer training programmes whilst hosting student-athlete ID camps in Oxford, giving young male and female players an immersive football and cultural experience in one of the world’s great university cities.

Oxford City FC carries a rich footballing heritage. The club was once managed by England’s 1966 World Cup-winning captain Bobby Moore, who was joined in the Oxford City dugout by a young Harry Redknapp, later one of the Premier League’s most recognisable managers.

The announcement comes at an exciting moment for Oxford City, who prepare to host former FA Cup winners Leicester City in the Emirates FA Cup First Round on Friday, 6th November 2026. Leicester lifted the FA Cup in 2021, and the tie is one of the standout fixtures of the round.

“We are thrilled to welcome Singapore Football Club as an international partner. This aligns with our strategic pillars of developing our community, a belief in developing people, and building lasting partnerships. Sharing our coaching knowledge and opening our doors to SFC’s players and coaches is an exciting step for both clubs, and we cannot wait to welcome them to Oxford. We are looking forward to learning more about football in Singapore and supporting the growth of both organisations.”

Justin Merritt, Chief Executive Officer, Oxford City Football Club

“What drew us to Oxford City FC is that it is a true community club, with real roots in the people and place around it. This is an authentic partnership built on a shared commitment to pathways and development. We look for partners whose place in the game mirrors the opportunities that Singapore-based players are working towards, and Oxford City’s position in the National League North, the sixth tier of English football, reflects exactly that: a genuine, attainable pathway. Our members will benefit from quality coaching, real player pathways and the experience of training and learning in Oxford.”

Dom Lane, Managing Director, Singapore Football Club

The partnership will come to life quickly.

A coaching and leadership camp will take place in Oxford this December, followed by Singapore FC’s own academy camps in Singapore. Thereafter, a flagship summer camp in 2027 will combine international tournament football in Spain with a training and ID camp in Oxford.
