Singapore Football Club (SFC) has appointed Sam Balls as their Operations Director.
Balls will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and management of Singapore Football Club’s academy; acting as an important bridge between the club’s coaches and the administrative functions off the pitch. At the same time, he will be tasked with growing Singapore Football Club’s footprint, via the Academy, within the Singapore school system.
With 12 years of commercial experience in banking, combined with being a qualified PE teacher, having taught in the Australian International School in Singapore, Balls is well-positioned to deliver on both parts of the role. He has also been actively involved in the Singapore football scene, with five years of experience in managing football teams in the JSSL League across a range of age groups.
SFC’s Managing Director, Dom Lane commented “Singapore Football Club continues to be one of the fastest-growing clubs in Singapore – in spite of the challenges thrown up by the pandemic. Sam brings a unique set of skills, that will enable the academy to continue to operate at the highest levels that we require. The increasing size and scale of our operations mean this is the perfect time to make this appointment.”.
